Front Porch Fair

  SATURDAY, May 22

10AM - 5PM

Old Alabama Town has partnered with Jubilee CityFest to present a day of old fashioned family fun.  Join us for bluegrass music, storytelling, and craft demonstrations by blacksmiths, woodcarvers, potters, chair caners, and spinners and weavers.  Children's activities will include a presentation by the Montgomery Zoo of Alabama native animals, a puppet show by Paw-Paw Cotton Tales, sack races, butter making, arts and crafts, and other traditional games and activities.  At 10:30 a.m., join us for Gabbin' with the GRITS again, an encore presentation of Old Alabama Town's popular Women's History Month program featuring beloved Alabama storyteller Kathryn Tucker Windham and Montgomery historian Mary Ann Neeley.  The two legendary Girls Raised in the South will partake in casual porch talk while sitting in rockers and sipping sweet tea.  At 1 p.m., enjoy a concert by one of the state's top blue grass bands, Cottonmouth Creek.  A free muscadine wine tasting sponsored by Alabama's own Morgan Creek Winery will be provided and food vendors featuring traditional Southern treats, including lacy cornbread, will be on hand.  Visit www.oldalabamatown.com for more information.
